The Frankfurt am Main’s 2011 Facility Management Trade Fair and Congress, February 22nd To February 24th, 2011, at the Frankfurt Messe, in Frankfurt am Main, in Germany.

    To begin this article, it is important to explain what Facility Management is about. Facility Management is about :

Document archiving, document destruction, firm mail, mail transportation, fire protection, budget, office space planning, catering, documentation, reception desk, energy management, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration, logistics, modernization, renovation, security, software, cleaning, waste management, (…), all those words familiar to us and that are a part of our daily life.

Drifting not from our subject, among the 146 firms and publishers present at this Facility Management trade fair and congress in Frankfurt-am-Main in Germany, it is to notice the participation of the following firms :

The firm DESAUTEL Protection Incendie from Montluel in France, whose red line of fire extinguishers is universally known.

The firm Bayer Sheet Europe from Darmstadt in Germany, we’ll talk in details further in this report about the firm.

The ALVERO/Office Furniture Rental, a firm in Cologne in Germany.

Die Deutsche Bahn : The German Railway Operating Company.

The firm HSG ZANDER from Neu-Isenburg in Germany, one of the world’s leaders of Facility Management. The Facility Management being all the necessary things to make a firm work, as explained above.

The famed firm, whose name and logo have no secrets for us, the firm Lotus Professional from Moers in Germany and from Cuijk in The Netherlands.

The firm Mainova Energie Dienste from Frankfurt am Main in Germany.

The firm WISAG Facility Service from Frankfurt am Main, in Germany.

The firm ePocket Solutions GmbH from Dortmund in Germany, whose epocket Handyman or mobile service software is a true revolution in the field of Facility Management.

A trade fair is the opportunity to meet with people representing firms.

I will cite Dr.-Ing. Volker Benz from the firm Bayer MaterialScience in Darmstadt in Germany, who presented and explained to me, what Makrolon is all about.

Makrolon is high-tech polycarbonate that can resist fire, bad weather…, and that is used as bullet resistant glass, and that is also used in the setting up of roof coverings, of cupolas, or as a transparent cover shell for stadiums,(…).

Some buildings making use of the resistance and transparency of Makrolon :

The Justice Palace of Pescara in Italy, the EcoCommercial building of Noida, in India, the Tianjin Olympic Center Stadium in China, and the Gdansk’s Baltic Arena Stadium in Poland.

In a register directly dealing with the human being himself, let’s report on Mr Peter Häfner from the firm brainLight GmbH from Golbach in Germany, who recommends his line of relaxing chairs, a chair with variable inclination of the seat and backrest, brainlight Lounge, equipped with headphones and special spectacles that will make you travel space and time, and give you back serenity of mind and soul.
